In a foundry or metal melting workshop, temperature measurement is not only about getting a temperature reading. Operators also need to measure quickly at the furnace, transmit the result reliably and allow other personnel to see the measured temperature from a distance.
The CYY-W660 Wireless Large-Screen Molten Metal Pyrometer is designed for this type of industrial application.
It is a wireless molten metal temperature measurement system developed for melting, foundry and metallurgical applications. The system combines a portable temperature measuring instrument with a wireless transmitter and a wall-mounted large digital display with a wireless receiver.
The measured temperature can be transmitted wirelessly from the furnace-side measuring instrument to the large display, eliminating the connecting cable between the measuring gun and the remote display.
This makes CYY-W660 particularly suitable when the temperature needs to be measured close to the molten metal while the result needs to be viewed from a more convenient position.
Traditional wired large-display temperature meters require a cable between the measuring gun and the display.
In a busy foundry, this cable can restrict the operator's movement around the furnace.
CYY-W660 separates the measurement point from the display point.
The operator carries the wireless temperature measuring instrument to the furnace, while the large display can be installed at a suitable position where the temperature result can be easily observed.
The manufacturer's manual recommends installing the large display at a visually accessible distance of approximately 10–50 meters from the measuring point, with an installation height of approximately 2–4 meters, subject to the actual plant environment.
Molten Metal → Rapid Thermocouple → CYY-W330 Wireless Measuring Instrument → Wireless Transmission → CYY-W660 Large Display
After a measurement is completed, the temperature value is transmitted to the large display, which displays and holds the same measured temperature value. An audible bell can also indicate the completion of the measurement.
One of the key features of the CYY-W660 is its large digital display.
The system uses a 5-inch digital display with approximately 128 mm character height, making the measured temperature easier to read from a distance in a production workshop.
This is useful when:
the measuring point is close to a melting furnace;
the operator cannot conveniently stand beside the display;
production supervisors need to observe the latest temperature result;
multiple workers need to see the same measurement result;
the display needs to be mounted in a visible position in the foundry.
The large display enclosure is approximately 500 × 238 × 90 mm.
With the appropriate thermocouple type, CYY-W660 can be configured for different high-temperature molten-metal applications.
The specified accuracy is ≤ ±0.2% + 1°C, with 1°C resolution and approximately 1 second response time. The actual usable range depends on the selected thermocouple configuration.
This makes the system suitable for applications such as:
For iron foundries and cast iron melting processes.
For steel melting and casting operations requiring high-temperature measurement.
When an appropriate thermocouple is selected for the required temperature range.
Foundry temperature measurement can take place in a demanding industrial environment, especially around medium-frequency induction furnaces.
CYY-W660 uses anti-interference measures designed to improve measurement stability. According to the product manual, temperature measurement can be carried out while a medium-frequency furnace is energized, without switching off the furnace power.
This makes the system relevant to:
Medium-frequency induction furnaces
Iron melting furnaces
Steel melting furnaces
Foundry melting lines
Metal casting workshops
Metallurgical production areas
CYY-W660 is more than a large temperature display.
The system includes:
Automatic temperature-value holding after measurement
Synchronized light indication
Audible bell indication
Thermocouple-break alarm
Over-range alarm
Low-voltage alarm
Historical temperature data storage
The instrument can store more than 1,000 historical temperature records, which can be queried when required. An optional printer can also print measurement records.
For a foundry, this can help operators and production managers review temperature measurement records instead of relying only on handwritten notes.
CYY-W660 Wireless Large-Screen Molten Metal Pyrometer can be used for:
Foundry temperature measurement
Molten iron temperature measurement
Molten steel temperature measurement
Molten metal temperature measurement
Induction furnace temperature measurement
Furnace-front temperature measurement
Metal melting temperature measurement
Casting temperature control
Metallurgical temperature measurement
Non-ferrous metal melting applications
The system is supplied with a wireless CYY-W330 measuring instrument, wireless receiver/display and compatible measuring accessories. Rapid thermocouple probes are selected according to the metal and temperature range.
